David and Jessica Tracy met in Middle Earth, he was a Human Captain and she an Elvish Champion.
Upon an evening of destiny, on the edge of the Lonelands, he saved her from a clan of trolls. No thanks were necessary, merely the reassurance that she too was doing her part in saving Middle Earth. She was impressed by his chivalry and he with her knowledge of geeky shit.
On their first date, David took Jessica into the perilous Misty Mountains. Passing through lands infested with orcs and ravenous wargs they reached a summit just in time to see the rising of Tilion. As days turned to months he courageously protected his noob she-elf and using his max leveled captain, showed her places she was not yet grown up enough to see on her own.
It wasn’t easy and their relationship was complicated. He being a mortal man, she being an immortal elf and living in a different country 2000 km away. But Eru shone a light on the couple and 9 months later they were wed and their lives forever changed.
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
― Lao Tzu
Jessica and David were both raised in staunch Pentecostal homes. They always questioned the doctrine and didn’t believe “Because God” to be a logical answer. Together they searched for answers outside of religion. They found The Tao Te Ching.
Taoism is not a religion. It’s a way of life. It’s understanding that there is a force in nature that accomplishes everything that needs to be done effortlessly without force. It’s being present and going with the flow of life removing much of it’s stresses and pressures. It’s about love and compassion towards all living things. Even noobs and trolls.
Jessica makes the feel good tool Buff Beads and David is an ordained minister who can perform Wiccan and Jedi weddings. Together they maintain a small casual guild on Rift and live a self-aware, dramatically geeky life filled with adventures abound. They are avid collectors of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars paraphernalia and can be found at local bars awkwardly gawking at the celebs during Vancouver comic con season.
